Wounded Warriors Family Support was honored to award Army Sgt. Kyle Sayre a Mobility is Freedom vehicle grant. These funds allowed Kyle to purchase a new Jeep Wrangler for his family.
During the last month of his deployment to Mosul, Iraq. Kyle was the gunner in the lead patrol truck and an I.E.D. went off in front of their vehicle. The vehicle was forced to make evasive maneuvers and ended up rolling over multiple times. During the rollover event, Kyle’s legs were crushed under the weight of the truck. After many attempts to keep his legs, amputation was the only option that was available.
The Mobility is Freedom program is designed to provide wounded warriors like Kyle a vehicle of their choice, which can be modified as needed to fit the demands of their injuries and also fit the needs of their family. WWFS strives to give combat-wounded veterans the freedom of mobility that they had before their injuries with these vehicles.
