I wanted to reach out and express my personal deep gratitude for the gift that this vacation was to our family.
There have been far too many times that my husband, the Wounded Warrior, has sat on the sidelines not being able to actively participate in our children’s lives. Due to his physical injuries and mental hurdles walking through a crowd, let alone a theme park, has never been on the docket as a possibility for him. In his words “this was the first time I ever felt appreciation for my service in the military and everything that I have had to give up due to my disabilities that we as a family have had to learn how to adapt to since getting out.”
Our whole family has been impacted by my husband’s military service. The wounds are both visible and invisible.
The accommodations (themepark tickets, Golden Memer Pass and lodging grant) that Wounded Warriors Family Support gifted us, alleviated several burdens and gave my husband an opportunity to create “normal” memories with our children. As a wife and mother, I do not have words to express my deep gratitude for this opportunity.
We had the best time! I think we have created adrenaline junkies but of our young kids haha! I also wanted to say, the Universal Studios staff was incredible to work with. Everyone that we encountered was so polite and courteous. My husband walks with a cane and the ride staff was very kind and helpful accommodating for what he needed to get on and off each ride safely. In Harry Potter world some ride staff let us know about the use of medical lockers that are no charge to the guest if there are things in the backpack that the Gold Pass Member needed access to.
Thank you for choosing our family to be recipients of this awesome vacation!
