Lukas Partners Supports Wounded Warriors Family Support Program to Honor Veterans with Mobility-Equipped Vehicles

Wounded Warriors Family Support, an Omaha-based nonprofit, launched the Mobility is Freedom program in 2015 to provide modified vehicles and motorcycles for combat-wounded veterans. Lukas Partners worked with Wounded Warriors Family Support to assist with vehicle and motorcycle donation events in California, Georgia, Louisiana, New York, and Virginia.

In 2022, Wounded Warriors Family Support honored eight combat-wounded veterans with mobility-equipped vehicles. Lukas Partners worked with Wounded Warriors Family Support’s program outreach coordinator to obtain background information about each veteran who was honored with a vehicle.

“The Mobility is Freedom program provides a combat-wounded veteran with the independence he or she needs to help them live a normal life,” Lukas Partners Senior Communications Strategist Kevin Schuster said. “I was honored to become acquainted with dedicated veterans who received a vehicle to enhance their quality of life with family members. These stories were uplifting. I noticed the pride each veteran displayed as new vehicle keys were awarded.”

Once we received background information on the eight combat-wounded veterans, Lukas Partners detailed their brave recovery in media alerts and news releases. A key message was how the custom motorcycle or vehicle with adaptive equipment will help enhance the veteran’s quality of life and provide him with independence.

Lukas Partners targeted local, national, and military publications during media pitching. With each news release, we included a photo of a combat-wounded veteran with his new vehicle or motorcycle. During May, Lukas Partners coordinated motorcycle and vehicle donations around events in the country’s two-largest media markets.

Wounded Warriors Family Support presented Tony Mullis of Hawkinsville, Georgia, with a custom 1993 FXR Harley Davidson during a Combat Hero Bike Build Presentation in Ontario, California (a Los Angeles suburb). The nonprofit also awarded Luis Remache of Manorville, New York, with a 2022 Ford F-150 mobility-equipped vehicle during Fleet Week New York 2022 at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

“We have partnered with Lukas Partners since 2012 to help tell stories of combat-wounded veterans who have received a donation, home, motorcycle, trip, or vehicle as a way to enhance their lives after they dedicated service to our country,” Wounded Warriors Family Support CEO and President Kate McCauley said. “I appreciate the way Lukas Partners responds in a detailed and timely manner, so we can demonstrate how these donations help heal the wounds that medicine cannot.”

Lukas Partners earned 621 online, print, radio, social media, and TV Mobility is Freedom placements that reached an audience of nearly 62 million people throughout the country.
