In 2020, the Chiefs have elected to use the pregame Drum Ceremony to recognize a different Season Ticket Member at each home game. Sandy Bentch, one of our Hight Five Tour volunteer drivers and a Native American, was selected to beat the ceremonial drum before the Chiefs game against the Jets Sunday at Arrowhead. Sandy has been a Season Ticket Member since 2002, a Red Coater since 2006, and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation out of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Bentch volunteers with the Wounded Warriors Family Support Organization and for the last five years has been a driver for the High Five Tour that travels around the country to help bring donations to assist combat-wounded veteran families.
Congratulations Sandy!
Also at the game on Sunday was Paul Mendez, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, will serve as the game’s DiPardo Spirit Leader. The club, which will be the beneficiary of the Hunt Family Foundation 50/50 Raffle on Sunday, received its charter in 2015 and currently offers grant-funded programming such as Kidzlit, Smart Moves and Youth Mentoring to approximately 160 members.
