San Diego is home to one of the largest concentrations of active-duty military and veteran populations in the United States. With Naval Base San Diego, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, and Camp Pendleton anchoring the region, thousands of service members transition to civilian life here each year.
These veterans carry extraordinary skills — but they also carry the weight of their service, and their families carry it too. Housing costs, employment gaps, and the invisible toll of post-service adjustment create real financial pressure that can overwhelm even the most resilient families.
WWFS has been on the ground in San Diego for over two decades, providing direct financial support and family stabilization to those who gave years of their lives protecting ours. We move fast, we cut through bureaucracy, and we show up when it counts.
San Diego's high cost of living means that even a brief financial setback can cascade into crisis for a veteran family. WWFS provides emergency mortgage and rental assistance, utility relief, and targeted support for military families navigating the transition to civilian life.
We work within San Diego's robust network of base chaplains, VSOs, and veteran-serving nonprofits to identify families in need and act fast — no long waitlists, no complex eligibility barriers. Just direct help, delivered with dignity.
